Patricia de Jong is the artist behind "Through my Dreaming Eyes" who lets herself be inspired by the beauty she notices in the smallest things around her.
The Dutch native is heavily influenced by the beautiful nature in the South-West of Ireland. The many majestic mountain ranges feature in some her artwork in a more abstracted version, accompanied by dramatic skies and dreamlike atmosphere.
The more abstract works she creates are also inspired by her surroundings, from a mossy forest, to the sunshine hitting a glistening calm lake or the soft organic flow of the clouds creating art in the sky.
Patricia would like her art to offer a moment of escape in someone’s busy day. A moment of joy or a moment to take a deep breath and get lost in a little imaginary world or a memory kept dear to the viewer's heart.
Picking up a paint brush is exactly that to the artist: A little escape from daily life and a moment to breathe calmly and see the magic appear at the touch of a paintbrush.
All listed artworks are original and one of a kind and mainly created with acrylic paints. Patricia is self taught and has been selling her artwork since 2020.
Her highlights to date include taking part in the "Spring Tide" and "Autumn 2022" exhibitions at the gallery Be Framed, Douglas, co. Cork 2022 and having sold artworks in 3 charity initiatives:
"Pluid - The National Comfort Blanket" 2021 in aid of Pieta House
"Incognito" 2022 & 2023 in aid of the Jack & Jill Foundation
She has also had the opportunity to create some very personal commissions for some of her clients, which have been a true honour to create.
